My cat is throwing up and having diarreah...do cats get viruses....?

Please help this is my baby. She started having diarreah yesterday and is puking and not making it to the cat box today. She is just laying around and obviously doesn't feel good. She is an inside cat and sneaks out every once in a while. We sprayed the yard a couple of days ago for insects. What are the symptoms of poisoning, feline lukemia?? Do cats get viruses. Do you think she will be ok till the morning to see a vet??

cats don't get the pukey flu, diarrhea and vomiting are definite signs of somethings just not right. Is she up to date on her shots? Did she get outside after you sprayed the yard? If she has gotten outside and is not current on her shots it could be a number of things . Can you call an emergency vet and describe the symptoms to them ?

Hope she is OK

The most important thing you can do for her is call an animal hospital now and tell them exactly what is happening. I lost my Persian in March to cancer and she had the same symptoms your cat is having. Is there any blood in her stools? Please check for that. If so, it's really bad. I have one of my Persian's 3 yr old offspring, and the vet said if she ever gets diarrhea, to get her the vet asap, because it's the earliest sign of intestinal cancer, which is what her mother passed from. I rushed her to the vet as soon as I found her under the sink bleeding and vomiting, but, by the time I got her there she was extremely bad. She went into cardiac arrest on the table while they were trying to insert the IV and we lost her after heroic attempts of CPR,by the vet. So please!!!call the 24 hour vet emergency number for your area, just to be sure. They may want to see the cat now if they think it's in bad shape. They would know best..doesn't hurt to make sure.
if you put Anti-Freeze in your yard its toxic to dogs and cats. i would recommend taking him/her to the vets immidiatly [idk how to spell that] before she/he gets really sick or passes on.
Cats get viruses, partial bowel obstructions, foreign objects, hairball plugs, kidney disease, liver disease, parasites, and allll kinds of other stuff that cause the symptoms you're describing.
