Is anybody else totally p----d off with these f-----g viruses that you get from the net?

I seem to spend 75% of my time on the computer just getting rid of viruses.I am totally getting to the stage of thinking stuff the internet and stuff the whole computer thing.Does anybody know an antivirus(please don't suggest norton)that will just fix it automaticaly without all this messing about?PLEASE somebody help before I go insane!

Layered protection is the most secure; you use several different programs from different companies rather then a suite (eg Norton or MacAffee); this is because each company uses its own engine for its software. Once a hacker has cracked the engine they are through all your security.

You need to have different software programs to deal with different types of malware. Anti virus programs won't deal with trojans or spy ware.

But bottom line is, it doesn't matter how many security programs you run if you bypass them and download a virus straight to your hard drive.

Never access the internet from the administrators account, use a limited account. You can't install software from a ltd account so you download to the desktop, Right click on the file and scan it with your anti virus, your anti trojan and your anti adware and spyware.

If it comes up clean you drop it into the My Docs folder, which you can access from the administrators account.
