I'm having a Nokia 6131 phone with a 40 series 3rd edition OS , and i didn't find any mobile-guard or antivirus for my phone ... i even started to doubt that *.jar or *.jad extensions won't have any viruses...i need help about that guys...if yes,it could be infected, tell me from where i can get an antivirus for my phone ... Thanks
Does mobile files that have *.jar or *.jad extensions contain any viruses ?panda
Nokia 6131 isn't running the Symbian OS - that's why you can't find any anti-virus programs for it. There are no known *viruses* that spread as *.jar or *.jad files.
In fact, viruses can't spread in *.jad files, because these are just small text files, describing the contents of the corresponding *.jar file. Currently, there are a couple of known Trojan horses (i.e., not viruses) that reside in *.jar files. However, their user interface is in Russian, so it is rather unlikely that you'll be fooled by either of them.
It is certainly possible for a virus to spread as a *.jar file (these contain Java programs) - but no such virus exists yet.
