free - but full of viruses unless you are careful. Its just like any P2P. Good AV and some common sense and you'll be OK.
You mean mp3s for your ipod? Limewire is a good option for "free" mp3s. They're free like stealing CDs is free, but whatever. It is NOT virus free and you stand a chance of getting a virus with any of the "free" options if you aren't careful.

If you want safe then use the itunes store and pay for it.
