How do you format your hard drive if you are using Windows XP Home. I have viruses and want to reloa

I have had many viruses and would like to reload everything. Unfortunately, it will not allow me to format the C:/. I also believe that my system files have virus strings in them as well. Can anybody help?? I have everything on disk so I am not worried about losing data. Thanks.

If you have the RESTORE DISK that came with your computer, use that. If you have Windows XP that came with your computer, use that.

Read the instruction booklet that came with your computer. If the RESTORE thing is included on the hard drive in a hidden partition, follow the instructions carefully on how to restore from that.

Good luck

put in a windows disk and restart your computer when you are promped to press any key to boot to dc do it and then your on your way don't forget to actually reformat the HD
Boot from your CD and during Windows Setup delete your partition. Then recreate the partion, format it, and install Windows. If you're somewhat computer savy, use "delpart".
