If I run windows on a Mac, is my computer just as susceptible to viruses as a regular PC running win

If I run windows on a Mac, is my computer just as susceptible to viruses as a regular PC running windows? I am not totally positive what makes a computer vulnerable to viruses, an OS or the computer hardware itself?? TIA.

A better made OS is less susceptible to viruses.

Right now Mac is less safe than Windows Vista, %26 Linux is the most safest (%26 legally free)

For Apple Macintosh OS X (latest version). Currently, 6% (7 out of 116) are marked as Unpatched with the most severe being rated Moderately critical

For Microsoft Windows Vista (latest version). Currently, 10% (3 out of 30) are marked as Unpatched with the most severe being rated Less critical

For Ubuntu Linux 7.10. Currently, 0% (0 out of 69) are marked as Unpatched (this is NOT the latest version of Linux, because the stats aren't out yet)

Apache/Linux based servers are the most popular in the world; therefore a larger target for Viruses etc. Despite this, historically speaking it has been the safest.
